This novena, inspired by the life of St. Carlo Acutis, is a spiritual journey focused on his virtues. Each day's reflection and prayer guide you to deepen your faith, just as he did.
9-Day Novena to Saint Carlo Acutis
(Opening Prayer)
O Holy Spirit, source of every blessing, enkindle our hearts with the fire of Your love. Through the intercession of Saint Carlo Acutis, accept the prayers we now offer You. Fill our souls with divine love. Amen.
(Creed, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 1: The Highway to Heaven – The Eucharist
Meditation: Carlo Acutis used to say: “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” This was not just a statement but a way of life. Despite his busy schedule, he attended Holy Mass daily and spent hours before the Blessed Sacrament. For him, the Eucharist was not simply a ritual but the living presence of Jesus Himself. Many times, we lose our way in the distractions of the world because we fail to make room for Jesus in our hearts.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, who clung to Jesus in the Eucharist until the end of your life, kindle in our hearts the fire of devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Grant us the desire to attend Holy Mass daily and spend time in adoration before Him.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 2: Missionary in the Digital World
Meditation: We often worry about the dangers of the digital age. Yet Carlo Acutis saw it differently. He used the internet and technology as tools to spread God’s Kingdom. He was not just a computer whiz but a missionary who filled modern instruments with the Spirit of God. Carlo teaches us that social media and technology can become seeds of goodness in the hands of believers.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, light of the digital world, protect us and our young people from the temptations of the internet and social media. Teach our hands to move not toward evil, but only toward building the Kingdom of God.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 3: The Path of Purity and Holiness
Meditation: Carlo Acutis showed us how an ordinary boy could become extraordinarily holy. He enjoyed friends, games, and studies, yet guarded purity in his heart. He was unafraid of bodily death, reminding us that only the death of the soul through sin is truly fearful.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, companion on the road to holiness, protect our minds and hearts from the stains of sin. Give us hearts that desire to please God alone in our lives.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 4: Missionary Zeal
Meditation: For Carlo Acutis, mission fields were not faraway lands—they were his home, his school, his computer, and his circle of friends. He longed to introduce Jesus to those who did not know Him. Our lives too are a missionary journey; wherever we are, we are called to proclaim Christ.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, model of missionary zeal, inspire us to share Christ’s love in our lives. Teach us to proclaim Him not only with words but with the witness of our daily living.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 5: Love for the Poor
Meditation: Though raised in comfort, Carlo Acutis had a deep love for the poor and homeless. He gave away his pocket money and even shared his food with them. He believed: “When we help the poor, we touch the body of Jesus Himself.” We too need eyes to recognize Christ in the suffering poor around us.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, who showed compassion for the poor, fill our hearts with love for the needy. Open our eyes to see Christ’s suffering body in those around us.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 6: Embracing Suffering with a Smile
Meditation: When Carlo Acutis learned he had leukemia, he was not afraid. He accepted his suffering with a smile and said, “I offer all my sufferings to Jesus, to the Pope, and to the Church.” He showed us that suffering offered to God can make us saints. Even our small pains can become great gifts when united to Christ.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, who embraced suffering with joy, grant us strength to unite our trials and illnesses with the Passion of Christ and offer them with gladness.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 7: Devotion to the Blessed Mother
Meditation: Just as he loved the Eucharist, Carlo Acutis also loved the Blessed Mother. He prayed the Rosary daily and sought her intercession. The surest way to reach God is by entrusting ourselves into the hands of Mary. A life given to her never goes astray.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, help us grow in devotion to the Blessed Mother. May she always be our Mother, guide, and powerful intercessor in life.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 8: Faithfulness to God
Meditation: Despite all the temptations of the world, Carlo Acutis remained faithful to God and the Church. He showed us what true Christian fidelity looks like. One who is faithful to promises never loses the path of truth.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, faithful servant of God and the Church, teach us to live with steadfastness. Strengthen us to remain in truth and resist the snares of temptation.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Day 9: Heavenly Goal
Meditation: The wealth and beauty of this world never captivated Carlo Acutis. His eyes were always fixed on Heaven, his only goal being eternity with God. He invites us too, not to waste time on what perishes, but to live with Heaven as our aim.
Prayer: O Saint Carlo Acutis, guide to the path of Heaven, lead us also toward the eternal. Free us from the chains of worldly attachments and help us live with our eyes set on Heaven. Amen.
(1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
(Closing Prayer)
"O Saint Carlo Acutis, present our novena prayers before God. Intercede for our special intentions (pause and recall your intention) and obtain for us, if it be God’s will, their fulfillment. Through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, bless and guide us always. Amen."
